Above and beyond our ICT support service, Service Birmingham procures, develops and delivers ICT related projects to support the council's business needs.
In addition, Service Birmingham has created a SAP Centre of Excellence, a Project Management Office and a Technical, Strategy and architecture team, increasing capacity, capability and expertise available to support the council and provide strategic vision for future projects.
Projects range from small technical improvements through to the delivery and implementation of major new ICT applications. Our highly skilled and experienced SAP Competency Centre, Project Management Office, Client Services and Technical Strategy and Architecture teams all work in collaboration with our customers.
Our teams possess considerable experience in delivering effective solutions across all local authority primary service lines including (but not limited to) children and young people, adults, housing, environmental, leisure, planning and regeneration, finance, procurement, payroll, human resources, property and facilities management services.
In 2009 alone, we delivered 68 large-scale ICT projects including electronic social care records, two geographical information systems, a new council website and the technical capability to deliver a single sign-on to the council's networked applications.
