Online book of condolence launched for three Winson Green men killed in riots

A Service Birmingham team worked with Birmingham City Council to produce an online book of condolence in time for the memorial service and funerals on August 18 for Shazad Ali, Abdul Musavir and Haroon Jahan, the three young men killed in the early hours of August 10 after they were struck by a car during disturbances in the Winson Green area of Birmingham during last week's riots in the city.

The online book of condolence allows people to post messages of condolence and pay their respects to the three young men. The site can be found here: http://condolence.birmingham.gov.uk/

A council spokesman said: "As well as leaving a conventional book of condolence in the Council House for people to sign we thought an online book would assist people nationally and internationally to pay their respects too."
