Service Birmingham's Governance
Because of the unique way Service Birmingham is set up, the
company directors do not have overall control of business
decisions. These are monitored by a committee called the Strategic
Partnership Borard which has members from Birmingham City
Council and Capita. As well as decision making, this
board is also responsible for ensuring the shared aims, vision,
purpose and values of the partnership are maintained.
The role of the Strategic Partership Board is supported
by the Service Birmingham Joint Venture Board (JVB)
who oversee business planning, service delivery, investment,
innovation, communication, people and business transformation
activities.
The work of Service Birmingham is also subject to regular audits
undertaken by Birmingham City Council Internal Audit
division, Capita Group and External Certification Bodies
across all of its activities.
